Come Together
As the Democratic National Convention comes to a close, those of us who pledged support to Hillary Clinton have changed allegiance to Barack Obama. Like the others I have traded my HRC button for an Obama bumper sticker. It’s a natural evolution in the political season, but unlike John Kerry and Al Gore (back in ’00 before he was cool) I’m really proud to support Obama.
If you’re in the mood for DNC convention-style cupcakes, here are my tips for making Betty Crocker look more like Magnolia Bakery. The ones in the pic with me and Jen were all the rage at my Super Tuesday party.
* Create a “muffin top” by pouring the cake mix to the very top of the paper liner before baking.
* Let frosting warm-up beside the oven while the cupcakes bake, so that icing will be smooth.
